We are going to need more GMs soon. We have a store opening in 90 days and need 2 GMs. We have a list of 4+1 that could get the job, but we only need 2. The +1 is an AGM wanting to move up. Out of the other 4, 3 were GMs, 1 presently is. My boss wants to move up 2, fire the others....Or at least that is what he said.
Likely we will keep at least 3 out of 4 and maybe even move the +1 up. Not for the worst, but I just wish we would really fire folks sometimes. It sends a message keeping them never can.
I get to work with 1 guy and the +1 guy since they are both mine. The 1 used to be my AGM way back when. He has issues to deal with, and it is my job to work on them:
- counting
- professionalism
- accountability
- golden rule violations
- dress code
- etc..
This is a 5 min blog post...no time to go into detail, but it seems he has developed a $$ issue, wherein his store is off $ if he is there. I need to address this ASAP. My phone just told me he was not off today, that is a relief!
The +1 is immature and hotheaded. I worry about him moving up because he seems to dislike everything and everyone around him at work. Despite all this, he describes himself as "chill", whatever the fuck that means to him. To me it means relaxed.....he is not and I am out of time
