Nick Vujicic is someone I admire

Nick Vujicic
No Arms, No Legs, No Worries.

Serouisly, Google it or hit up YouTube. Motivational and Christian speaker just blew me away with his spirit and attitude. Worth a looks if you ever felt like you can't get something done.

A haiku about The Day the Earth Stood Still

I saw the remake. I have the original, but have not watched it yet. I hope the acting was better in it. I just think Keanu is not able to pull any kind of dramatic range any longer. Maybe he just wants to play the same character over and over. I am sure it pays better then what I make. And I do pretty much the same thing every day. Of course I do not describe myself as an "artist" of any kind.

Keanu Reeves

Plays alien just like he did Neo

Special effects save the acting

Watch "Return of the King" next time you're home sick

The extended edition is just about 4 hours long. Everytime you wake to see the title screen its time to take meds

Be Reasonabe

Be reasonable....you do not have any right to put yourself before the rest of existence just because

Spock fountain

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few..or the one." I know its a Star Trek quote, but it sums up what I would have said much faster and better. You are not so special the whole damn world needs to let you have your way. Think of it this way. When everyone is special, nobody will be...so shut up and try to get along with everybody else please

'I knew I loved you' sounds different to me now

I knew I loved you by Savage Garden

I did not like it when it came out, but it has become a song that reminds me terribly of my relationship with my wife. It became our "song" for better or worse, and it describes how I feel about her 10 years on

Hurt by Johnny Cash

The song is good..I like his version much better then NIN, but the video was so powerful an anti-drug and hedonism poster they could stop federal spending on that subject and just make teens look at before and after pics.

PYT by Michael Jackson

I like the song..but its creepy after the past issues raised to think it may have been about young boys..not girls. Nothing wrong with homosexuality, but kids are off limits, boys or girls.

When I went to work because it waas what I always did

When I hated my job, but kept going. I had just f-ed off before in my life, and suddenly I was not quitting. I was going to find something else before running out on my responsibilities. I realized that sometimes my parents were not as dumb as I had thought as a teenager

My road-trip mix tape

B.O.B by Outkast.

So upbeat and lively..I could listen to it over and over again

Jessica by Allman Brothers

Jam band songs make the miles fly by.

Live by Dave Matthews Band

DMB Live just rocks. Brings back great memories from the past, gets me through potentialy boring drives

'The time machine did it' will make you laugh, if you understand the Simpsons

Writer of Simpsons fame is funny on his own. When I read this I could see it as an episode of the show, but it would never work as one. Would have been a good movie though.

My bucket list starts with: See the ocean

See the ocean
See, I was born in the center of the US. No ocean here. I have been to several coastal regions, but with no time to get out and see it. That bothers me.

Drive 200 mph
I am a speed freak, what can I say. I would also like to try my hand at the Nurburgring.

Hold Political Office
It has to be more then the power....there are many good local and regional folks in politics. It for me is the extension of my belief that if somebody sticks it to me with bad calls....I would rather it was my bad call, not yours

Become fluent in another language
Right after I become a master of English (American)

See my abs
I never have, seems like fun.

Where can I park my Escalade - no pretention on board

Sensible. I think the Prius is a good idea with a bad social connotation. Think about those "Tramp Stamp" tattoos. Sensible, but it shows what kind of person you are. I also think anybody that drives the same car as a pretentious Hollywood star and thinks they are being good for the earth is an idiot. Good for You, great for Toyota, not THAT good for the earth. At least the Escalade looks good with gold rims

Name a children's book that makes you nostalgic.

It reminds me my mother told me I was special, but I had no right to demand my way all the time. It was not the best thing for everyone else, and judging by the current world climate, more people should take the books message to heart

What gadget is at the top of your wish list?

smartboard

I want a tablet pc that works like I do. Not a Palm or iWhatever, not a net book or notebook. Just a touch/pen interface machine that takes random thoughts and digitizes them....like those awesome touch panels on news shows these days, but portable and networked to add my thoughts to a desktop later

Food!

If you could eat only one type of cuisine for a year, what would it be?

chimichanga

I could go for mexican food. But not the uppity, 5star kind. Just blue collar, working-man's food. It reminds me of my roots, but is not what I grew up on so it would be homey and different at the same time

Last.fm

So I am trying Last.fm Everybody I work with uses Pandora, but for the life of me I just don't like it. I tried, but the radio bugged me. It just did not work for me, but I know my tastes are odd. I like a ton of music, but it moves around a lot. I also jump from track to track during listening if I am not doing anything else - so I find I do not "listen" to music for fun.

I have really been letting last.fm read from amarok what I have and have heard for now. We shall see

Using Kubuntu 8.04

I thought I would put up some thoughts of mine on Kubuntu. I decided to follow the advice of http://consumer.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTI5OCwxLCxoY29uc3VtZXI=
and Morgan Spurlock. I decided once I got most everything set my way and running, I would not boot into XP unless I was unable to accomplish the task in Kubuntu.

Results. Since Xmas I think I have used XP 3 or 4 times, always for dvd ripping and duplication. Not for burning them really, but I was there already and Nero works for me too.

Computer Wonder

So I "gave up" XP a while back....4 months or so. I live a life that passes fast, sue me. It is not a fun, heiress lifestyle with lots of parties and social engagements. I have a wife, 2 kids and a mroe then full time job. I found this is fun to do, but not top of my daily list.

Anyway, I now use Kubuntu 8.04 for damn near everything. I cheated on the install....I put a 100GB partition for linux when I built this system. I had Kubuntu on hear then, but it broke (i broke it) and I had to reinstall.

I really love it, but I geek out a lot more then the average guy.
